Get excited about moving to Acadia, there's so much waiting for you! The community on and off campus offers countless opportunities to get involved, make meaningful connections, and feel at home.
Getting Involved
There's so much happening on campus! Stay in the loop by following Acadia’s social media channels. Events are also perfect opportunities to meet new people and immerse yourself in campus life.
Join Clubs and Societies
During Orientation Week (O-Week), most people are hoping to meet new friends. Don’t be shy— say hi to people you may bump into. The club and society fair during O-Week is a good chance to explore the wide range of clubs and societies at Acadia, engage with members, and find groups that match your interests.
One club that I have much appreciation for is the Acadia Yoga Club. They often have free yoga sessions for anyone and everyone. They also have yoga mats and blocks for anyone who may not have one. Mindfulness is such an important component of self-care; by improving my self-care I was able to better apply myself as a person and student.
Other clubs that have always been the most notable for me are the ones that make change. Acadia Sign Language (ASL) Club is an excellent opportunity to learn or strengthen your ASL. The Concussion Legacy Foundation is also an excellent club that educates and raises awareness.

On-Campus Jobs
Another great way to get involved on campus is through paid job opportunities. Applying to on-campus jobs helped me begin meeting people and broaden my circle.
I highly recommend taking advantage of these wonderful opportunities available to you by visiting the !
Discover Wolfville
The Town of Wolfville has so much character, it feels like a set from one of my favourite shows, Gilmore Girls. Wolfville is also home to some wonderful shops and outdoor art – take a stroll and see how much you can find. Some of my favourite things to do in Wolfville:
- Visit the Wolfville Farmers’ Market each Saturday
- Walk the Dykeland Trails
- Go tubing in the Gaspereau River
- Swim at Reservoir Park
- Go apple picking
- Visit corn mazes
Campus Community
Acadia is surrounded by beautiful scenery. For an adventure, follow the KC Irving Environmental Science Centre and the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens trails, which lead to a historic well that was used when Acadia was first built. The well is home to two beautiful fish with a lush apple tree hanging over it, making a beautiful spot to hang out.
One of my favourite things about the campus community is being able to walk to a coffee shop and enjoy the campus scenery with friends. It is a beautiful campus surrounded by a community of history, cute little shops, walking trails, pretty lakes, ponds, and rivers, and more.
If you’re looking to explore the area, the Acadia Library has free bikes to rent! Grab a bike and head in whichever direction you feel like that day. This gives you an opportunity to explore the beautiful community you can now call home!
What I love most about Acadia is how quickly it feels like home. People are so kind and there are always opportunities to make new friends. Embrace every moment and get involved—you’ll soon find that Acadia is not just a place to study, but a place to belong.
